Guests at Holiday Inn Express may order room service from the Brown Palace Hotel or eat in any of the Brown Palace restaurants (including the classic Afternoon Tea) and charge it to your Holiday Inn room.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is located 23 miles from downtown Denver and is conveniently connected to the city center via light rail.

Commuter Rail: The University of Colorado A Line is the easiest way to travel to and from the airport.

  • Travel time: 37 minutes from DEN airport to Denver Union Station
  • Frequency: Trains run every 15 minutes during peak travel times, and every 30 minutes from 3-5 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Fare: The airport fare is $9 per day from any of the stations along the A Line and includes unlimited rides on the A Line as well as the entire RTD Light Rail system during a single business day

To get to the Holiday Inn Express, take the Commuter Rail to Union Station and then take the 16th Street Shuttle to the end of the line. The hotel is one block from shuttle station.

Taxicabs: The average taxi fare from the airport to downtown is approximately $55 before gratuity. A one-way trip takes 40 minutes.


All Conference sessions will be held at the History Colorado Center - an award-winning, LEED-certified facility in Denver’s Golden Triangle Museum District.

A variety of tours will be provided in the afternoons, including architectural walks, studio visits, residency tours and off-site workshops. Ground transportation will be provided for off-site activities not within walking distance. Denver is a very walkable city, with shops, restaurants, museums, and nightlife all a short distance from the hotel.

All conference sessions and event venues are wheelchair accessible. In addition, afternoon tours and workshops will include multiple options that are accessible.
