The primary host for the 2013 Emerging Program Institute is The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. The vision of The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is to share with the world the creative and civic-minded spirit that exemplified this artist's life. The Foundation seeks opportunities that showcase the qualities of being fearless, innovative, collaborative, and pattern-breaking; and strives to encourage a dialogue that is a voice for positive change.

In 2012, the Foundation launched a residency program on Robert Rauschenberg's 20-acre estate on Captiva Island, Florida. The estate will be transformed into a creative center that welcomes artists of all disciplines from around the world to live, work, and create. The Rauschenberg Residency is inspired by Rauschenberg's early years at Black Mountain College where an artistic community brought out elements central to his legacy - collaboration and exploration - learning from and working with others to break new ground.

Additional hosting of the Institute is provided by the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.

Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art
The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art is the first dedicated LGBTQ art museum in the world with a mission to exhibit and preserve LGBTQ art, and foster the artists who create it. The museum embraces the rich creative history of the LGBTQ art community by informing, inspiring, entertaining, and challenging all who enter its doors.
