Getting to Washington, DC

Planes, Trains + Automobiles
The Reagan National Airport (DCA) is a 15-minute drive to Georgetown University Hotel. Washington Dulles Airport (IAD) is 25 miles to the hotel. And Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is an hour drive to the hotel - or catch the Amtrak from BWI to Union Station in DC! Taxis and shuttles are available at each airport.

Washington DC's Amtrak Union Station (WAS) is centrally located in Capitol Hill and features its own Metro stop and plenty of taxis outside.

Getting Around Georgetown

All institute sessions will be held at S&R Foundation’s Halcyon House (3400 Prospect Street NW, Washington DC) in the Georgetown neighborhood. Halcyon House is a 13-minute walk from Georgetown University Hotel. Each morning you can walk with a group to the Institute from the hotel - or you can make your own way there. We will also take chartered shuttles and/or the Metro together to off-site tours and events.

DC is such a beautiful city, it’s hard to resist walking to places. Foggy Bottom, Theodore Roosevelt Island, the Lincoln Memorial, the Kennedy Center, and the Georgetown waterfront are all neighborhoods and attractions that are within a 30-minute radius from Georgetown University Hotel. GUTS (Georgetown University Transit System) buses run every 20 minutes during the day to DuPont Circle Metro stations and is free to Georgetown University Hotel guests.

Lunch is provided as part of your conference registration, and while breakfast is not included, coffee/tea will be provided at the Halcyon House each morning. For breakfast, you may want to grab a quick bite in the hotel from The Faculty Club Restaurant, Cosi or Starbucks before your walk to Halcyon House.
