Creative Director | Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (Philadelphia, PA)

The Creative Director will be responsible for curating, managing and implementing the Waterfront Arts Program for the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC). Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, this position will work closely with curatorial colleagues, artists, funders and partners in addition to DRWC Site Operations, Marketing and Planning staff to develop and produce artistic and cultural programming on the Waterfront.

The Waterfront Arts Program at DRWC is a newly established framework that seeks to activate Philadelphia’s waterfront with high-quality, innovative public and performance art, by embracing non-traditional venues and establishing the waterfront as a cultural destination for the city. DRWC recently completed a plan for the program (summary included) with the input of experts in public art and administration, public space programming, waterfront ecology and history, as well as community members throughout the city.

The plan articulates the purpose of the program (including both its overall values and the goals for the collection of art and programming that will result from it), the cultural and physical contexts in which the art and programming will exist, and how the program will be operationalized. With the plan now in its final stages of completion, DRWC is looking to bring on board an individual who can oversee its implementation. With the broad framework for the program established through this plan, the Creative Director will be responsible for putting it into action.
