Residency Coordinator | Catwalk Institute (Catskill, NY)

Catwalk Institute seeks a Residency Coordinator for its Art Residency, an invitation-only artist residency program in Catskill, New York. The mission of Catwalk Institute is to provide a special retreat for art making, collaborative projects, and scholarly discourse. This visually stimulating part of the country has historically provided and continues to provide significant inspiration to artists, writers, and scholars.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Residency Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, facilities and administrative staff to manage all primary functions related to the residency program, including:

  • Oversee and maintain Catwalk administrative office.
  • Track application deadlines and maintain residency schedule.
  • Serve as primary interface with artists before and during residency.
  • Coordinate communication with Catwalk residency alumni.
  • Manage property manager and housekeeper.
  • Coordinate weekly project schedule with relevant staff.
  • Work with bookkeeper (monitoring payroll; preparing quarterly statements, e.g., P&L; maintaining expenses within annual budget).
  • Maintain website.
  • Oversee special projects and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Organized, energetic, sophisticated individual who enjoys working with artists.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office including Excel required; database, email marketing software, &/or website maintenance experience a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to self-direct.
• 3+ years working within an artist residency or arts context non-profit.

HOURS, SALARY, AND BENEFITS

• Full time, exempt-from-overtime position; possibility of four-day flex-time schedule.
• Regular attendance at dinner with residents (up to once a week) expected; occasional weekend event work required.
• Paid time off and contribution toward health care benefits.
• Salary $40-45k.
