Archie Bray Announces New Fellowships

For the first time in its 60-year history, the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts will be awarding fellowships to all 10 long-term artist residents along with stipends for all short-term summer residents.

The four newest fellowships, starting in 2012, are sponsored by the Windgate Charitable Foundation. In addition, the Bray offers the Taunt Fellowship, the Lilian Fellowship, the Lincoln Fellowship, the Natsutani Fellowship, the MJD Fellowship, and the Speyer Fellowship.

"This gift from the Windgate Charitable Foundation will be an incredible benefit to our artists and will allow them to focus more of their time in the studio. Being able to provide this generous financial support to each and every resident artist helps the Bray fulfill its mission and reinforces its commitment to furthering ceramic art.” –Steven Young Lee, Resident Artist Director

Each fellowship awards $5,000 and a one-year residecy at the Bray to a ceramic artist who demonstrates exceptional ability and promise. For 60 years, the residency program at the Archie Bray Foundation has provided a unique environment for ceramic artists. Residents learn from each other and share experiences, while spending concentrated time in the studio developing new work.
