Elizabeth Chodos to Lead Ox-Bow

Ox-Bow, a school of art and artists’ residency, is elated to announce the appointment of Elizabeth J. H. Chodos as its new Executive Director. Previously Ms. Chodos served as the Associate Director of Ox-Bow since February 2010. Prior to Ox-Bow, Ms. Chodos was the Executive Director of threewalls, a Chicago residency and exhibition space. She earned dual Masters Degrees in Art History, Theory and Criticism and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she wrote a thesis on artist residencies. A native of New Haven, CT, Ms. Chodos has called Chicago home since achieving her Bachelor’s of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY, in Art History and Creative Writing.

Ox-Bow is a 102-year-old creative community located on a protected 115-acre property in Saugatuck, Michigan. Through its affiliation with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ox-Bow offers one and two-week courses for credit and non-credit for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. Ox-Bow’s courses are diverse, ranging in focus from the functional to the sculptural, from traditional to contemporary, and from representational to conceptual.
