Fine Art For Children Residency: La Napoule Art Foundation Issues Challenge to Artists

For the upcoming Fall 2012 Residency, Do You See What I See, La Napoule Art Foundation (LNAF) has issued a challenge to artists:

How does an artist’s work evolve for a children’s audience while preserving its integrity and relevance for the rest of us?

Eight artists across all disciplines will be selected to explore this question in a month-long residency at the Chateau de La Napoule. While intended to engage a younger audience, works will be created with the same expertise, aesthetic rigor, and emotional power of fine art exhibited for adults. The artists’ goal will be to transcend all ages. Residents’ work will be included in exhibitions in France and in the United States.

The residency will be held from October 9 – November 6, 2012.Selected residents receive most meals as well as housing and studio space at the magnificent Chateau de La Napoule and adjacent Villa Marguerite just outside Cannes, France.

Applications are due May 15, 2012. Additional information and applications can be found at http://www.lnaf.org/residencies/2012-themed-residency.
