Art Omi

Art Omi hosts international visual artists, writers, musicians, architects and dancers on 300 acres in the Hudson Valley region of New York, amidst a 10-acre contemporary sculpture park, The Fields Sculpture Park.

Art Omi has five distinct residency programs:

- Art Omi: Architects invites 10 professional architects from around the world each February for a two-week residency
- Art Omi: Artists invites 30 visual artists from around the world every June-July for a four-week residency
- Art Omi: Writers hosts 40 writers and translators from around the world for up to two months each year
- Art Omi: Dance brings together 10 dancers/choreographers from around the world for three weeks in late July.
- Art Omi: Music brings together 12-15 musicians/composers from around the world in late August for three weeks

Through a competitive jury process, residents are chosen and invited to attend at no cost to themselves, except travel. Abundant, catered meals and comfortable, beautiful lodgings are provided.

Omi is located in beautiful rural Columbia County, near the Berkshires, overlooking the Catskill Mountains. Omi is 2 hours north of New York City.

Facilities & Services

  • Housing: Private bedroom in a shared housing facility, Shared bedroom
    Visual artists sleep 2 to a room; all other programs have private rooms.
  • Meals: All/most meals are provided by organization
  • Computer/internet access: Computer and internet connection provided in common area (shared), Computer and internet connection provided in living or studio area (private), Wireless Internet
  • Accessibility: housing/grounds/studios are accessible
