Newnan ArtRez

The Newnan Art Rez program offers emerging and mid-career artists a retreat where they can pursue visual, literary, and musical projects away from everyday pressures, offers our community opportunities to engage with artists, and supports creating art and art experiences that will enrich Newnan and Coweta County’s cultural environment.

The program works with partnering organizations throughout our community to offer residencies to artists in various disciplines in order to give them space and time to create/develop their work. In return artists will be expected to interact with the community through demonstrations, workshops and/or performances/art shows.

We are best suited to host writers, composers, painters, photographers and musicians with their own instruments. If you work in a different discipline, please enquire to see if we can accommodate your specific needs.

We cannot accommodate enrolled students, nor can we accommodate potters, ceramicists or wood-turners. Fine artists must have a website. Writers and musician/composers should have a resume. We hope to draw from outside the local community.

Residencies can last from two weeks to two months.

Actual dates to be determined after Newnan Art Rez receives commitments from partnering organization by November of prior year of residency.

Our partnering organizations include but are not limited to the University of West Georgia, the Newnan Historical Society, Newnan-Coweta Art Association, The Heritage School, and The Performing Arts Center.
