Curaumilla Arts Center's residency program considers concepts as provocation and astonishment, such that those who come are strongly pushed to cross the border towards the creative and artistic exploration. We encourage "Applied Contemporary Art" aimed at finding art experiences associated with deep immersion processes, both individual and collective, throughout spaces for experimentation, risk, questioning and creation.
We began the Curaumilla Project in 2007. Since then, we have conducted workshops in ceramics each year. In pursuing the second part of our dream, we launched our Residency Project in 2013 and hosted the first resident in Ceramics at Curaumilla Art Center. In 2016 we expect to open new lines of Residencies and welcome artists from different disciplines.
Curaumilla Arts Center (Centro de Arte Curaumilla) is a space dedicated to the formation, creation, deliberation, discussion, experimentation and exchange of different artistic languages. Its location in a natural environment of the waterfront promotes experiences of personal immersion in an environment of collective care, where learning and creativity emerge.
Curaumilla Arts Center is located at Camino al Faro km 7 1/2, Valparaíso, Chile. It is about 120 kms from Santiago Airport (Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benítez) and 20 kms from the city of Valparaiso.
