Description and Qualifications

Purpose of Position:

Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director, the Individual Giving and Board Relations Manager will play a key role in individual fundraising efforts as the Fine Arts Work Center grows. A new position in the organization, the Individual Giving Manager will have the opportunity to develop and build key development functions. This is a part-time position.

Key Duties:

Individual Giving

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and execute FAWC’s annual individual fundraising plan, to sustain a large base of individual supporters.
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with individual donors and prospects.
  • Oversee staff effort to track individual gifts made weekly and ensure all donations are promptly entered into Donorview system and Google Sheet tracking system.
  • Supervise effort to process all thank you letters within one week of receipt of gift.
  • Work with Administrative Assistant to prepare weekly report for Executive Director, Administrative Director, and Individual Giving Consultant of all gifts made, with donor background information and recommendations regarding cultivation next steps.
  • Maintain system in Donorview and Constant Contact to monitor individual donor prospects and move them through moves management system (acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).
  • Conduct donor research and prepare individual prospect background information in advance of all donor meetings.
  • Collaborate with External Relations Director on all print and email fundraising campaigns targeting individual donors. Ensure the successful implementation of these campaigns.
  • Regularly report on individual giving campaign status against goals. Prepare Donorview reports as requested. 
  • Prepare and send pledge invoices as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external Wealth Screening partners.

Board Relations

  • Attend all Trustee and Committee meetings. Prepare minutes for review within one week of meeting date.
  • In advance of all Committee meetings, work with Committee Chairs and staff colleagues to prepare and distribute agenda, supplemental materials, and Zoom details at least one week prior to the meeting.
  • Update Board Binder annually.
  • Provide in-person and virtual support for four annual Trustee meetings.

Cultivation Events

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and program colleagues to develop cultivation events to engage individual donors.
  • Develop event invitations in Paperless Post and track RSVPs.
  • Support on-site event needs and ensure attendees are welcomed appropriately.

Other

  • Develop an understanding of the Fine Arts Work Center’s initiatives and needs.
  • Provide consistently prompt, friendly customer service to donors, Trustees, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing implementation of the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organization, management, and communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, problem-solve, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Three to five years experience in development or a non-profit arts administration setting.
  • Knowledge of reporting and fundraising databases.
  • Available to work select week nights and weekends.
