Ucross Foundation is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the organization’s prestigious and beloved residency program. The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, strong communications and organizational skills, and the demonstrated ability to work well in a small team setting.
 
For 40 years, Ucross has provided artists with a rare gift in today's world — uninterrupted time — along with workspace, living accommodations, and meals by a professional chef. More than 2,600 artists have spent time in residence at Ucross on its spectacular 20,000-acre working cattle ranch, located in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains.
 
POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator provides meaningful support to the Residency Program, ensuring the best possible experience for all artists and program participants. The Program Coordinator supports the Residency Manager with daily tasks, assists with artist record keeping, and provides gallery support, among other activities. In addition, the position works closely with the Program Director during the selection and invitation process and assists the Managing Director in handling the on-the-ground operational needs.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with scheduling residents and preparing invitation letters
  • Create and maintain session list, deposit record, and award chart
  • Provide support, when needed as backup, with artist transportation
  • Deliver resident packages and mail upon receipt
  • Assist the Program Director with Selection Committee meeting arrangements
  • Track all residency documents
  • Keep resident library organized, maintaining library archive records
  • Maintain residency artwork archive and storage records
  • Assist with gallery-related tasks, including gallery exhibitions, community artists talks, and workshops
  • Serve as backup for office reception and gallery attendant
  • Represent Ucross to the public with a positive attitude and demonstrate strong personal commitment to the organization’s mission
  • Work with fellow staff members, artists, board members, guests and others in a congenial and respectful way
  • Other duties and projects as assigned and as needs arise

 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • One to three years of experience with administrative support
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders
  • A commitment to accuracy, and an attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Relevant computer skills, including Office 365
  • Ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously

 
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The salary range is $38,000 to $40,000, commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, including:
