Who is eligible for Organizational Membership:

An organization who has as a primary purpose the support of living artists and creative thinkers in the creation of new work.

The Alliance of Artists Communities encourages, but does not require, the following standards for Organizational Members:

• The organization provides dedicated time and space for creative work, with artists “in residence” for a finite period of time
• The organization brings creative individuals together into a community, whether a community of other artists or the local public
• Artists-in-residence are selected through a competitive admissions process 
• The organization is not-for-profit and/or provides subsidized residencies

• Invitation to and registration discounts on annual conferences, regional meetings, institutes, and special events
• Advocacy to funders, policymakers, media representatives, etc. on your organization’s behalf
• National visibility for your programs and the values and successes of the field of artists’ communities
• Inclusion and unique webpage on Alliance website, as well as ability to post to online bulletin boards and job listings
• Premium access subscription to the Alliance website
• Coverage in newsletter and other publications, with international distribution to funders, researchers, peers and others
• Major discounts on Alliance publications
• Invitation to national, interdisciplinary symposia that address artists’ roles in society and philosophical issues of creativity relevant to the field
• Participation in important surveys on field-wide issues
• Use of Alliance Organizational Member address list once per year at no cost
• Mailings on special issues in the field, events and resources
• Voting privileges on issues of Alliance policy and governance
• Discounts through Alliance partners, including health insurance, professional development opportunities, and more (see what’s available to Alliance members through our partners)

To join as an Organizational Member: 

Please download the membership form and mail or fax the completed copy to us.

Dues = $500 - 5,000 year (based on budget, see application form for details)

*Note: Alliance membership is based on the calendar year. Renewals are sent out once annually, though you may choose to renew later in the year.
