Membership Benefits 

ACA offers membership to any organization or program that’s primary purpose is to support artists and creative thinkers in the development of new work. Member benefits will vary and depend on membership level. ACA membership is based on the calendar year. Renewals are sent out once annually, though you may choose to renew later in the year.

 

  • Program promotion - Members have a full profile in the Directory with the ability to share multiple open calls. Their deadlines appear in and are promoted in the Residency Deadlines Newsletter for two months preceding the deadline. They have the opportunity to be featured at the top of the newsletter and on ACA’s social media platforms.
     
  • Resources - Members have access to resources specific to the field of artist residencies. 
     
  • Registration discounts - Members receive a discount on any paid programming, including Strengthening Your Equitable Capacity workshops, Emerging Program Institute, and the ACA Conference. 
     
  • Grant eligibility - Members are eligible to be partners with ACA for consortia and regranting programs. 
     
  • Job listings - Members can post job opportunities on our Job Board.
     
  • Participation in Affinity Networking Groups - Members can participate in any cohort, affinity or regional networks, such as the Performing Arts Affinity Group, Art and Ecology Affinity Group, and regional networks.
     
  • Access to ACA online programming - Members have access to all ACA programming and accompanying resource material, including networking sessions, Field Conversations, and webinars. There is always a member discount for paid programs. 
     
  • Voting on issues of ACA policy and governance - Members have the opportunity to participate in the development of ACA policy and governance. 
     
  • Access to special alerts and opportunities - Members gain access to professional development opportunities, advocacy and more. This may include promotion and entry to special events from our partners or access to alerts and other benefits.

Organizational Member Benefits

Organizational Member benefits are available to all staff members of the organization or program.

Dues = $500 - 5,000/year (based on budget*)
Budget < $350,000 = $500/year 
Budget $350,000 + = budget x 0.00175 (not to exceed $5,000)

Emerging Program (EP) Membership

ACA offers Emerging Program Membership to any organization, association, or person(s) that is within the first five years of founding AND has been accepting artists for less than three years. Emerging Program Members will be asked to renew at the Organizational level when their program has been established for more than five years, has been accepting artists for more than three years, or has been an EP member for more than three years — whichever occurs first.

Emerging Program Member benefits are available to all staff members of the organization or program.

Individual Membership

ACA offers Individual Membership to any individual who wants to support the ACA’s work and the field of artist residencies.

Dues = $100 year / per person (not available for organization)

Affiliate Membership

ACA offers Affiliate Membership to any organization committed to artists and the creation of new work whose primary mission is inextricably linked to creativity (but does not operate a residency program).

Affiliate Member benefits are available to all staff members of the organization or program.
