Santa Fe Art Institute and Midtown Arts and Design Alliance
Discover Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI), a leading artist residency that has supported more than 500 artists since its founding in 1985. This tour will introduce attendees to the unique structure of SFAI’s Residency Program and the dynamic community programming at the heart of the center. Toccarra Thomas, SFAI’s Executive Director, and Jamie Blosser, Director + CEO of Midtown Arts and Design Alliance, will discuss the center’s past, present, and future—including how the closure of an adjacent university campus has opened new possibilities for local partnerships and creative collaborations, such as the initiative to build a larger cultural campus in the geographic heart of Santa Fe: MADA. Attendees will get a close-up look at SFAI’s iconic facility designed by Ricardo Legorreta, tour studios and living spaces with an emphasis on physical accessibility, and learn about the efforts to create a vibrant arts and cultural campus through MADA. Lunch will be provided in the SFAI galleries.

SITE Santa Fe, Once Within a Time
SITE Santa Fe is a dynamic hub for contemporary art and home to the first international biennial in the United States. Spend an hour on a guided tour of select pieces in Once Within a Time, a large-scale exhibition exploring the power of storytelling through new and commissioned works by international and regional artists. Curated by Cecilia Alemani, the exhibition features seventy-one artists and centers people who have inhabited, traversed, or left their mark on the Santa Fe region across centuries. Following the tour, attendees are invited to explore the full exhibition, SITE’s outdoor installations, and the surrounding Railyard District, home to many of Santa Fe’s top galleries and arts spaces. Fee includes special 255 page "Once Within a Time" guidebook.
Details: Meet at the SITE Santa Fe lobby at 1:30pm. Meet at the La Fonda Hotel Mezzanine on the 2nd floor at 1:00pm if you'd like to join a group walking over together. Walking distance from Eldorado Hotel is 0.7 miles, or from La Fonda Hotel, 0.8 miles. Alternatively, you can explore more of Santa Fe by catching the free blue shuttle: Santa Fe Pick-Up (be sure to check the schedule). Lyft / Uber are also available.
