SPIRIT LAB

SPIRIT LAB is an interdisciplinary artist residency and cultural space located in Jiaoxi, Yilan, Taiwan. We welcome artists, designers, researchers, and creative practitioners from around the world to develop projects inspired by Yilan's landscapes, local culture, traditional crafts, food, and community life.

Our residency encourages artists to slow down, observe, and experiment through meaningful engagement with place. Residents are invited to research, create, and share their work through exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, open studios, or community-based activities.

The space includes an exhibition gallery, workshop and learning spaces, and a café that serves as a gathering place for artists and visitors. By bringing together contemporary art, local culture, travel, and wellbeing, SPIRIT LAB aims to foster cross-cultural dialogue and lasting connections between international artists and the local community.

We believe that creativity grows through exchange, curiosity, and a strong sense of place, and we are committed to building an inclusive and sustainable residency program for artists at all stages of their careers.
