The Choral Art Festival is a three-day celebration of choral music event that culminates the Choral Art Residency. The festival brings 40 participants to Banff for a weekend of song and collaboration alongside Chanticleer, guest faculty and the 12 Choral Art residency participants.
Expand your choral community through workshops, rehearsals and concerts, all set in one of the most picturesque locations in the world. The festival fee includes tuition, three nights of accommodation, meals, workshops, rehearsals, and performances, providing an immersive choral experience. Participants will leave feeling inspired, connected and ready to tackle the flourishing and exciting world of vocal chamber music.

The Choral Art Festival includes:
- Workshops with Chanticleer, composer Sarah Quartel, soprano Andrea Haines Tim Shantz, and Michael Zaugg.
- Rehearsals and performances in a variety of configurations, alongside Chanticleer and Choral Arts Residency participants.
- Three nights of accommodation and all meals at Banff Centre for the duration of the festival.

Application Information
The Choral Art Festival weekend is for individual singers of all ages and experience levels.
We are accepting 10 of each voice: soprano, alto, tenor, bass, of any gender.
Total Program Fee
$2 000.00
Application Fee
$65 for individuals or $35 for applicants who identify as Indigenous.
This non-refundable fee covers the full cost of processing your application, including the SlideRoom fee.
What's Included
The festival program fee includes tuition, three nights of accommodation and all meals in our Vista Dining Room during the festival.
- Arrive: From 4pm Thursday June 1, 2026
- Depart: After 4pm Sunday June 20, 2026
A limited number of rooms may be available for an additional night on Sunday, June 20, 2027, at a rate of $102 + GST per night to accommodate travel arrangements. During the application process, you will be asked to indicate whether you require this additional night of accommodation. Selecting this option does not guarantee a room. Requests will be reviewed and confirmed during the offer process.
