The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is launching a residency program called Inspired By. The program invites visual artists and performing artists to experience Taliesin West, the winter camp of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, become inspired by the site, and create works of art in response to their experience.
The visual artist in residence program often results in an exhibition at the site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and National Historic Landmark. The performing artist in residence program results in participation in a series called The Cabaret Sessions. Both exhibitions and performances happen at Taliesin West, where 100,000+ people per year visit for a tour, program, field trip, or public event. The busy season, and majority of all programming, takes place from October - May each year. The site is open year round, but much less active due to Arizona's very hot summer temperatures.
The Inspired By visual artist in residence program launched in 2025 and has hosted two visual artists in residence thus far. The performing artist in residence program launches in 2026 with nine artists visiting and performing between December 2026 - May 2027.
