Djerassi Resident Artists Program

Djerassi Resident Artists Program

Woodside, CA, United States

The Djerassi Resident Artists Program is located in a rural setting in the Santa Cruz Mountains, one hour south of San Francisco. The Program offers six month-long residencies each year from mid-February through mid-November, at no cost, to artists in the disciplines of literature, visual arts, media arts/new genres, choreography, and music composition. Djerassi provides housing and studio accommodations, all meals and full administrative support to over 60 artists each year. In addition, we offer accommodations to artists during the Winter Residency Program and offer free public tours of the Program's property and sculpture collection. The Djerassi Resident Artists Program is designed as a retreat experience to pursue personal creative work and share collegial interaction within a small community of artists. In this spirit residents are expected to commit themselves for the entire residency session they are awarded.

Please briefly describe the facilities and areas of the campus that are NOT accessible.

We offer a variety of unique live/work spaces, many but not all of which are reached via stairs. The property is nestled in the hills, with little flat ground between buildings.
