Ma's House offers short, place-based residencies for US-based BIPOC artists working in visual art, writing, performance, research, sound, film, and interdisciplinary practice. Residents receive time and space to rest, research, and make work on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton, New York, with access to the house, shared studio, library, and gathering spaces. Artists are encouraged to engage with Shinnecock history, the local landscape, Indigenous presence, community-based practice, diversity, race, identity, and the cultural life of Ma's House. Each resident contributes one public program, such as a workshop, talk, open studio, screening, reading, or gathering.
