Artist Communities Alliance Announces Rashad T. Bailey as Director of Development and Partnerships
Providence, RI — Artist Communities Alliance (ACA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rashad T. Bailey as its new Director of Development and Partnerships. In this role, Rashad will lead ACA’s fundraising strategy, cultivate strategic partnerships, and help expand the resources and networks that support artist residencies and creative communities worldwide.

Rashad brings more than 15 years of experience as a strategic development executive and producer, with a career grounded in the belief that robust creative infrastructure is essential to transforming the lives of artists. His work sits at the intersection of revenue growth, stakeholder engagement, and economic justice—an approach shaped early in his career through advocacy with organizations focused on equitable economic policy and community change.
Before joining ACA, Rashad led advancement initiatives for a range of arts and cultural institutions, including Asia Society, The New Press, PlayCo, and The Drama League. Across these roles, he has built sustainable funding models, strengthened institutional partnerships, and supported mission-driven growth in complex cultural ecosystems.
In addition to his leadership in development, Rashad is a multidisciplinary creator and filmmaker. He is the co-founder of the film collective Fine Print—and the founder of the experimental creative agency Operation CTRL, launching in 2026. His production credits span award-winning cinema and stage, including the documentary BEBA (NEON), La ENA, and the Broadway production of Slave Play.
A third-generation artist, Rashad is a company member of the Off-Broadway ensemble Colt Coeur and an alum of Theater Producers of Color and the School for Poetic Computation. His work has been recognized by Playbill, Artforum, Los Angeles Times, and New York Magazine. Across all of his roles, he remains deeply committed to expanding access, opportunity, and long-term sustainability for artists and the organizations that support them.
Rashad writes: “Artists need time, space, and resources without strings. I'm proud to join Artists Communities Alliance at this critical moment to help strengthen residency infrastructure—the rare ecosystem where artistic development & work can breathe. Let's protect and expand these possibilities."
