Whitefish Bay, located on Wisconsin's Door Peninsula, has long been a creative haven for artists who were an important part of the local community and brought the process of creating art into daily life. Inspired by the history of the Dome House and the vibrant artistic community in Door County, the Al & Mickey Quinlan Residencyaims to give an artist the opportunity to create work in a unique environment providing inspiration and solitude. The Dome House Al & Mickey Quinlan Artist Residency is open to one artist residing in the Midwest states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio or South Dakota. The program aims to give artists working in the fine art mediums of drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and other mediums the space and support to create work in an inspiring and unique location, in addition to providing opportunities for public access to an artist at work through supplemental programming and educational content for the community.

The space includes free computer and internet access and all utilities. Due to the unique nature of the home, the facility is not accessible. An industrial sink, work tables and wall space are available. Artist in residence (AIR) shall advise the Miller in a timely manner of any special needs or requirements AIR may require for a safe and comfortable residency.
