Hortus Arboretum and Botanical Gardens

The gardens are a non-profit organization whose mission is to sustain the native, unusual, and historic plant life of the Hudson Valley. We strive to serve as a vital educational resource for the public. In addition, we are focused on saving rare and endangered plants worldwide to ensure that species diversity lives on.

We are creating a ‘Living Textbook’ of plants that can be grown in the Hudson Valley.

Artists have full access to the 21 acres of gardens if they wish for additional inspiration.
