EY!STUDIO Artist In Residency

Our residency programme #Ey!Studio is designed to provide the ideal environment for artistic creation in Madrid. The residencies are for artists and curators (no collectives accepted) of any nationality and age who do not live in Madrid, Spain.
Since 2017, 46 artists have shown their work at #Ey!Studio from national and international backgrounds such as the United States, Italy, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, etc.
We are located in the neighbourhood of Carabanchel, a district in full cultural boom, known as the "Soho of Madrid", where a total of 160 artists are currently working in approximately 40 studios, as well as art galleries and the Matadero Art Centre.
We are located next to Madrid Río, a leisure and recreational area around the Manzanares River, as well as being only 20 minutes from the city centre by public transport.

What do we offer?
- Invitation letter so you can get your funds. You can now access funds from the "Culture Mobilising Europe: Individual Mobility Action" campaign.

-If the resident requests it, accompaniment and advice.
-Materials and tools for common use.
- Work space.
- Accommodation.
-Guide with places of interest, as well as specialised art shops, restaurants, etc.
- Promotion and dissemination of the resident on social networks.
-Being part of an artist's archive.
- 1 tab on the Ey!Studio website with the project developed.
- A video with an interview that will be promoted on social networks.

Expectations of the artist
The artist has the opportunity to make an Open Studio with the results of the new work resulting from his/her stay together with the rest of the residents.

Fee Details

We are a non-profit cultural association, the residency fee is intended to cover 60% of the cost of the programme's
total general operating expenses. The remaining 40% is covered by the Ey!Studio Association.
We are happy to write letters of recommendation and invitation for the resident to apply for grants in their home
country, once the application is accepted and the booking fee has been paid.

Studio 1:
2 weeks (14 days): 750 €.
1 month (30 days): 1.300 €.

Studio 2:
2 weeks (14 days): 650 €.
1 month (30 days): 1.200 €.

Space 3
(studio without accommodation)
2 weeks: 400 €.
1 month: 800 €.

The 40 m2 space is air-conditioned and has a large dining table and an armchair for relaxing, reading, etc.
The office is equipped with a fridge, microwave, two induction hobs, capsule coffee machine, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, cups, plates, glasses, frying pans, pots, forks, spoons and other kitchen utensils. We do not have a washing machine, although there is a laundry 9 minutes from the studio).
