Trillium Arts: Spring 2026 Individual Artists Applications

Associated Residency Program

 

Trillium Arts is an artist residency center where artists of many disciplines can find a creative home away from home, offering secluded space for rejuvenation and creating in a beautiful, remote setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our current facilities are best suited to the disciplines of literary arts, photography, visual arts and arts administration. We are located on 22 private acres with stunning views and are 30 minutes north of Asheville, NC.

2026 Residencies Include:

  • Private accommodations in a one-bedroom, ground floor suite (Residency hosts live upstairs but resident artists have a private entrance). Learn more about the artist suite HERE.
  • Welcome dinner
  • Shared use of the grounds, including firepit, hot tub and waterfall area
  • Use of onsite creative spaces that include a contemplation gazebo and 220 square foot open air, covered workspace. Learn more HERE.
  • Potential use of the Red Barn Studio for an additional fee (starting at $35 per day)
  • Basic kitchen supplies and all household goods (towels, linens, paper products, etc.)
  • Access to high speed fiber optic internet
  • Mentorship services (optional for an additional fee)

All 2026 residences consist of seven consecutive days in length. Dates ranges are flexible and anytime between April 15-May 15, 2026. Welcome dinners are hosted on the artist's second day in residency. The residency week ends with an optional evening work-share. Check in time is after 3:00pm and Check out is by 11:00am.

Dates: Applications are currently being accepted for residencies one week in length during:

  • Anytime between April 15-May 15. 2026. Applicants have the flexibility to select their preferred seven days in the form below.

Who is eligible? Artists of various disciplines (writers, photographers, visual artists, choreographers) at any stage of their careers are invited to apply. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.There is no application fee.

Timeline: The Deadline to apply for April/May residencies is Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11:59pm EST. This is a firm deadline and late applications will not be considered. Applications will be reviewed by a panel and applicants will be notified in late February.

Additional Eligibility Information

Application Requirements include:

· CV or resume (not to exceed 5 pages)

· A one-page Project Description that describes your intention for a Trillium Arts Residency. What do you plan to accomplish?

· One Letter of Recommendation. This letter should be submitted separately by an outside recommender. Provide an email address below and your recommender will receive an automatic link to use to submit their letter on your behalf.

A Work Sample in either as a Text, Image or Video based format.
