August 10–14, 2026
9:00–11:00 AM CST
Virtual Witnessing Experience

This August, SaltWater Road Performance Institute invites artists, scholars, performers, educators, and creative practitioners into Theatrical Jazz Crossroads for a week-long immersive performance laboratory facilitated by acclaimed playwright, poet, and performance artist Sharon Bridgforth.

Across five mornings, participants will witness live facilitation by Sharon Bridgforth while engaging alongside a cohort of artists in Montgomery, Alabama developing original performance investigations rooted in site, memory, history, and community.

Participants receive:

• Access to daily virtual Theatrical Jazz facilitation sessions
• Artist process sharings and reflections
• Final works-in-progress presentation
• Private online community space for reflection and exchange
• Opportunities to witness contemporary performance research as it unfolds in real time

To honor the integrity and intimacy of the artistic process, sessions will not be publicly released or made available afterward.

Full Week Witness Pass: $200
Single Day Pass: $45

Registration is now open.
