The Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) is a 49,000 square-foot performing and visual arts destination on the campus of Oregon State University (OSU) in Corvallis. In four indoor and two outdoor venues we present concerts, exhibitions and performances by international touring artists and by OSU student ensembles. Beyond the building, PRAx acts as the hub of an arts and humanities network at OSU. We promote and facilitate arts-based approaches to all kinds of knowledge through our unique initiatives and a wide array of artist residencies and fellowships in research labs, field stations and other environments.

PRAx offers residencies and fellowships for scientists, creatives, scholars and students. We specialize in creating opportunities for those working at the intersections of art, science, humanities and/or engineering. PRAx is home to the Spring Creek Project and the Center for the Humanities, both of which offer a range of residency and fellowship programs detailed on this page.

Some opportunities are by application and others are by invitation. Some opportunities are one week and others are two years. Some are for Oregon State students and faculty and others are open to applicants working beyond the university.

Whenever possible, we work with residents to co-create an experience that best supports their research and process. Whether you are a chemist or creative writer, immersive experience designer or engineer, dancer or dendrologist, sound artist or filmmaker, we invite you to explore the opportunities
