The Ozark Artist Retreat and Studio is a recently restored three-bedroom, three-bath farmhouse, sitting on 17 wooded acres in the heart of the Ozark Mountains six miles from Table Rock Lake in Missouri. The property is nestled next to the National Mark Twain Forest with extraordinary scenic views. The retreat can comfortably accommodate up to three artists, with three sitting areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large, well-lit studio. Located 5 miles from Shell Knob, 42 miles from Springfield, 40 miles from Branson, and 30 miles from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the retreat is close enough to explore all the area has to offer, while its peaceful, secluded setting is the ideal backdrop for artists to create.
Artist residencies are available from one to four weeks in length, offering artists from all genres dedicated time to create. The residency is application-based and includes:
- Choice of 1, 2, 3 or 4 consecutive weeks
- Shared kitchen, studio, living areas and laundry facilities
- Kitchen stocked with coffee, tea and basic spices and pantry staples
- Linens laundered each week
- Transportation to grocery store, post office, pharmacy, etc. three times each week
