Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity | Digital Arts

Banff, AB, Canada

Banff Centre’s Digital Arts department is being reawakened with fresh purpose. Following a quieter period, we are stepping boldly back into Digital Arts programming and studio development, with a renewed focus on experimentation, innovation, and the future of creative practice.

Rooted in Banff Centre’s tradition of supporting artistic risk-taking on Sacred Buffalo Guardian Mountain in Banff National Park, and building on the legacy of the Banff New Media Institute, this next phase marks a bold step forward. It opens the door to immersive media, digital storytelling, and emerging technologies that are reshaping how artists create and connect.

Looking ahead, the department is building momentum for compelling new programming and studio activity that will expand what is possible at Banff Centre. The direction is clear: future-focused, artist-centred, and ready to lead into new creative terrain.

What’s ahead includes:

  • Creative Residencies
  • Digital Skills Labs
  • Professional Training Programs
  • Redefining and Redeveloping our studio spaces
