The Window Arts Foundation was founded to expand access to the arts and create a cultural exchange in downtown Little Rock. It is an extension of our gallery, The Window on Sixth, whose well-attended art shows and live music events cultivated a following of local artists, art buyers and music lovers, making art more accessible to the artists and the consumer. We consistently contribute to the cultural space in Little Rock and provide visibility for unrepresented and emerging artists.
We are especially committed to increasing access for artists from communities historically underrepresented, including BIPOC, Latino, and LGBTQ+, women and early-career artists, and expect our applicant pool and selected cohort to reflect that commitment.
Our inaugural residency will begin March 2027 with a two-month experimental, immersive visual installation. The artist will live rent-free and be exposed to the deeply creative community here. A public gallery show of the artist’s work will commence the residency in May.
The remaining four residencies will be open to (visual, writing, music) artists around the country, with the consideration of emerging and underserved/un represented artists age 21+.
