Trillium Arts envisions an artist residency center where artists of many disciplines can find a creative home away from home, offering secluded space for rejuvenation in a beautiful, remote setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our current facilities are best suited to the disciplines of literary arts, photography, visual arts and arts administration.

ABOUT US
Tofte Lake Center (TLC) is a non-profit organization that provides residencies for artists who crave dedicated time to work on their projects, for creatives who seek individual growth through guided workshops or retreats, for arts organizations that want to make time to re/focus on their goals or mission, for arts leaders to gather to exchange ideas with colleagues in their field. TLC is on a pristine lake near Ely, Minnesota, and adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

The mission of the Foundation is to promote the visual arts and education in the arts through cultural exchanges. Guided by the Hellenic history and culture, the Foundation will promote artistic dialogue between the Greek, American and International communities of artists.

The Rice Place is an ongoing endeavor of the Friends of Clyde Rice. Clyde and Ginny Rice's historic rammed-earth house on the Clackamas River in Oregon now serves as a retreat for writers, artists, musicians, biologists, and others who seek a safe haven in which to reflect and create.

Situated on 10 acres along the Clackamas River south of Portland, the 3-bedroom house accommodates up to 6 overnight or 12 for day use.  See the website for more information and how to apply.

The Merwin Conservancy is a small and thriving arts and ecology organization on the island of Maui. It conserves both an extraordinary place—a lush and rare, 19-acre palm forest that two-time Pulitzer prize winning poet W.S. Merwin planted and tended on land designated as agricultural wasteland  — and it conserves the sense of wonder that brought forth both Merwin’s poetry, and his garden.

Stove Works offers three core programs: Residency, Exhibitions, and Public Programming. Highlighting Contemporary Practice, our programs are designed with fluidity in mind, allowing us to not only guide but to respond. Our goal is to cultivate a climate and culture in Chattanooga that stimulates curiosity amongst its communities, enthusiasm for exchange, and openness to new ideas and contrasting perspectives. All of our programs are free to attend. 

Overlooking Cook Inlet and the heart-stopping grandeur of the Aleutian Mountain Range, Storyknife Writers Retreat, a literary nonprofit located in Homer, Alaska, hosts residencies for women from Alaska, across the United States, and internationally. Our mission is to give women writers the time and space to explore their craft without distraction. Storyknife provides women with a community to support their efforts, lifting their voices.

Open AIR is a place-based Artist-in-Residence program that connects artists from all disciplines and origins, with culturally, historically, and ecologically significant locations through collaborative partnerships in Montana.

With innovative opportunities available in places such as remote wilderness areas to historically significant sites closer to town, artists have the opportunity to draw inspiration from a regional community dedicated to preserving place, environment, and the arts.
 

Moab Arts is a municipality-run multidisciplinary arts center working to weave the arts into the social fabric of Moab, UT. We work closely with local government, non-profits, and cross-sector partners to activate the people of places of Moab and Grand County with the goal of sustainably growing the arts in our small town. 

Mauser Ecohouse creates a unique tranquil, inspirational, health-conscious, and community-minded living experience for the artists. The residency is situated in the beautiful rural Central Pacific region of Costa Rica on a 3 acre plot concealed in the lush jungle mountains.

Mauser EcoHouse invites applications from individual artists, artistic collectives, and organizations worldwide.The Mauser Foundation offers residencies for a period of one month or more year-round.
