2024 Individual Artist Residencies

Associated Residency Program

Three Individual Artist Residencies are available in 2024. These residencies are focused on individual artists and/or small collaborative teams of all disciplines (literary, performing and visual arts) who wish to create work in the natural environment and in community with other artists. There is also time for play and rejuvenation - all in support of each artist’s goals, needs and interests.

This residency is open to artists of any discipline, career stage, and geographic location who are over the age of 18.

Lodging for the residency and a welcome meal on the first night are provided; artists purchase food and prepare their other meals; there are fully-equipped kitchens in each cabin; sheets, bedding and towels are also provided.

The dates for our 3 Individual Artist Residencies are:

July 1st-13th, 2024

July 15th - 21st, 2024

September 11th - 17th, 2024

Applications are open from January 1 - February 5, 2024, at 5:00pm CST.

Onsite dramaturgical assistance of TLC Executive Director & Dramaturg Liz Engelman is available, if desired.

Additional Eligibility Information

We believe the land Tofte Lake Center sits on and the programs and opportunities we offer belong - and should be accessible to - artists of all genders, ages, abilities and racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds. We regard TLC as a home where all artists, arts supporters and audiences can touch the land, honor the ancestors, and through art become cultural stewards for the generations to come. We create community through personal and professional exploration of our ever-changing cultural dimensions: spiritual, political, economic, health and well-being, academic and, of course - art.
