Obee Editions offers a collaborative artist residency focused on the creation of original fine art printmaking projects. Artists work one-on-one with Tamarind Master Printer Perry Obee to develop new work through traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques.
This is a collaborative residency, not a class, workshop, or private studio rental. Perry handles the technical aspects of printing while the artist leads all aesthetic and conceptual decisions and actively generates plates, stones, or other matrices under guidance and supervision. Through sustained dialogue and shared decision making, projects evolve organically and often arrive at unexpected outcomes.
Residents can expect a focused, immersive studio experience emphasizing experimentation, translation, and collaboration through processes including lithography, monotype, relief, chine collé, digital processes, artist books, and hybrid approaches.
Artists working in any medium are encouraged to apply. Prior printmaking experience is welcome but not required.

Residency Experience Summary
Application Information
Artists working in any medium are encouraged to apply. Prior printmaking experience is welcome but not required.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Artists are invited to submit a portfolio, artist statement, brief project proposal, and preferred date ranges.
The proposal does not need to be fully formed or finalized. This is a collaborative residency by design. Prior to arrival, the proposed scope is discussed with the master printer based on the artist’s interests and working methods. Once in the studio, the project continues to develop in real time through sustained dialogue and hands-on collaboration.
Cost is project dependent, with rates varying based on scope, duration, and materials. Residency fees include standard studio materials and up to three sheets of fine art printmaking paper per day (maximum of ten sheets total). Projects requiring specialized materials, additional paper, or non-standard supplies beyond those regularly stocked by the studio may incur additional material costs billed at cost.
Residencies have a three-day minimum.
Multi-Day Residency (3+ consecutive days): $325/day
Weekly Residency (5 consecutive weekdays, Mon–Fri): $1,500
Two-Week Residency (10 consecutive weekdays, Mon–Fri): $3,000
Custom project structures and extended residencies may be arranged based on the needs of the artist and project.
While Obee Editions operates on a fee-based residency model, many artists secure external funding through grants, fellowships, or other independent support to offset costs. Visiting artists are responsible for travel and lodging arrangements.
The studio is happy to provide support materials, letters of support, or documentation for grant and funding applications upon request for accepted residents.
