Tofte Lake Center: 2023 Minnesota Artist Residency

Associated Residency Program

This 12-day residency provides a brave space for 6 emerging Black, Indigenous, Latinx, AAPI, SWANA-Arab American, and artists of color from different disciplines to balance personal work-time with community interaction and optional sharing of work or performance, as well as time for play and rejuvenation - all in support of each artist’s goals, needs and interests.

This residency is open only to residents of Minnesota.

Lodging is provided; in addition, each artist receives a $1000 stipend; mileage reimbursement for travel in Minnesota; and a welcome meal on the first night. Artists purchase food and prepare their other meals; there are fully-equipped kitchens in each cabin; sheets, bedding and towels are also provided.

Programming activities are made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The dramaturgical assistance of TLC Director and Dramaturg Liz Engelman is available, if desired.
