Echo Arts is an artist-run residency and art, performance, and arts education space in the Texas Hill Country, our mission is to support working artists by providing them with time, space, and a stipend to create their work. We believe that making art is a vehicle for making a kinder, more just world. We will welcome practitioners from a wide variety of disciplines, such as music/sound, painting/drawing, film/video/dance, photography, writing, and sculpture.
Our vision is to make experimental, expansive, and affordable art programming in the Hill Country, while facilitating artist immersion in this unique part of Texas. We will cultivate dialogue among artists and create opportunities for them to work and exhibit in this natural setting–enriching the region culturally, fostering connections between urban and rural communities, and, in the wake of the devastating summer 2025 flooding, contributing to spaces of joy, reflection, and collective recovery. Echo Arts will strive to be accessible and supportive to everyone, with special attention paid to childcare and in building out and renovating our studios to accommodate differently-abled bodies and minds. Our program structure and schedule will be wholly artist-centered.
Echo Arts will create a connection between the Hill Country and the world. Artists working with Echo Arts will contribute to the local community through public classes, exhibitions, and more. Our organization will host an annual experimental arts festival, featuring performances and outdoor installations. One way we will foster a vibrant, supportive arts community on a local, national, and international scale is by including thoughtful, engaged artists, art workers, educators, and other humanity-affirming individuals and groups in the planning of Echo Arts from the start. Echo Arts artist residency will open to our first artists in Spring/Summer 2027.
