This year, we will continue with our esoteric study and understanding of how the elements, witchcraft and creativity converge and diverge. Please bring your copy of the Awakening Tarot because it is the basis for our exploration.

To celebrate the inaugural year of the Obsidian Academy of Esoteric Arts, all confirmed 2025 Awakening participants will be gifted a 2-month free membership to the Obsidian Inner Sanctum online Coven when signing up for membership.

Awakening is an intensive and immersive 7-day thematic residency open to all professional and emerging artists of all disciplines.  The residency will be of particular interest to those who work with the five elements of earth, air, fire, water and spirit, and who wish to connect to the idea of the ‘witch’ in both a historical and contemporary context. People of colour, diverse gender identifications, and all abilities are encouraged to apply and will receive priority acceptance.

This program has been designed to provide a sacred and inspirational space for seekers to explore their own practice within the elemental framework of earth, air, fire, water and spirit. The objective is to engage holistic practices to connect our authentic self with our environment and to incorporate metaphysical practices within creative self-expression. Finding agency through voice, decolonization, global environmental concerns, socio-political and economic factors which affect our ability to be open about our spiritual practice in the arts, etc.
