BenAmil Artist Residency – Cozumel
BenAmil is a rural artist residency in El Cedral, Cozumel, in the Mexican Caribbean. Surrounded by gardens and jungle, the program offers artists and cultural practitioners time and space to develop artistic or cultural projects in an island context. Facilities include private studios with bathrooms, a palapa with kitchen and creative workspace, shared accommodation for up to 10 residents, gardens, and natural surroundings. The program welcomes artists, cultural managers, thinkers, organizations, and institutions from anywhere in the world. Residencies are available year-round, with flexible lengths; stays of approximately 10 days are common. Whenever possible, each residency concludes with a public presentation or exhibition. Residents pay a partially subsidized participation fee; meals, transportation, and project materials are not included.

Open to artists, cultural practitioners, thinkers, organizations, and institutions from anywhere in the world. Applicants should email personal information, a cover letter, a project description with technical or space requirements, and two preferred date options to info@benamil.org.
The resident participation fee is partially subsidized by BenAmil. One week: €400 per artist plus applicable tax. Two weeks: €750 per artist plus applicable tax. Longer stays are quoted according to duration. Meals, transportation, and project materials are not included.
