If your residency program is facing similar challenges with outreach efforts and application + selection processes, join the Alliance of Artists Communities (AAC) on Wednesday, August 11, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT for Engaging + Selecting Artists. This is the next session of Strengthening Your Equitable Capacity, a virtual workshop series designed to support residency practitioners in their efforts to make their residencies places where artists and staff can thrive. 

This session is a hands-on workshop that will guide you through the steps necessary to:

Assess your current outreach and selection methods;
Identify the barriers to achieving your equity goals;
Engage diverse artist cohorts, and;
Develop and implement strategies to work with staff, selection panels, and partners to ensure a more equitable process.
 

REGISTRATION + TERMS

There are only a few spots left in this session! Registration closes on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 8pm EDT (unless tickets sell out sooner).

Tuition for each three-hour session is $175 for AAC members or $250 non-members (+ Eventbrite service fees)

Flexible rates available to organizations that are Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) led or founded; disability-led or founded. If you would like further information on these rates, please email info@artistcommunities.org with 1. your organization name, 2. organization annual budget, 3. workshop you are interested in, 4. whether your organization is an AAC member, and 5. a note explaining why you are eligible.

We understand how unique your challenges can be since programs vary in size, structure and context. During these 75-minute sessions, we provide residency administrators and leadership with opportunities to connect and share.

You’ll dialogue in Zoom breakout rooms organized by residency program type:

Rural and remote programs
Seasonal and summer-only programs
BIPOC-led and/or founded programs
Dance and performance residencies
Programs embedded in universities
Programs embedded in museums
Programs embedded in foundations


Any and all staff of AAC member organizations may participate.
