Exploring Residencies

ACA is an international association of artist residencies. We support the people who power the field of artist residencies, the organizations and programs that provide time, space and resources for artists to advance their creative practice. Artists and artist residencies are at the center of our work.

Exploring Residencies was developed and launched in 2021 to artists, residency staff, arts leaders, arts advocates, foundations, and arts administrators.

ACA offers this virtual program to a variety of organizations. ACA will partner with you as a host and tailor our presentation + resources to meet the needs of your audience and your budget. During Exploring Residencies presentations, ACA staff introduce your audience to the world of artist residencies providing an overview of the field and what artist residencies are, explaining how programs vary, outlining how residency experiences can support an artist's career, and showcasing how ACA's resources can assist through the residency process.
