Ohio River House

Location

PO Box 4
Higginsport, OH 45131
United States

Our organization is based at a historic riverfront property in southern Ohio, near the Appalachian border region, where we are developing an interdisciplinary artist-in-residence program for visual artists, writers, and musicians. The site includes a restored early-19th-century home and former warehouse adapted into living and working spaces, offering artists a setting that supports focused creative work alongside informal exchange and connection.

The residency is intentionally small, place-based, and process-oriented. We are especially interested in supporting artists whose practices benefit from time, space, and reflection, without pressure for specific outcomes. While public engagement is not required, we encourage optional activities such as open studios, conversations, or workshops when they arise naturally from the artist’s work and are meaningful to the surrounding community.
