Casa Ceiba is a place-based artist residency in Santiago Atitlán, Iximulew (Guatemala), rooted in Maya cosmology, reciprocity, and relational accountability. Founded by Ceiba Futures LLC, Casa Ceiba offers immersive, co-designed residencies for artists, culture bearers, and cultural organizers seeking spaciousness, ancestral grounding, and meaningful engagement with a living Maya community.

Hosting one resident at a time, Casa Ceiba provides lodging, shared studio space, and facilitated experiences with local Tz'utujil practitioners—centering rest and creative practice over productivity. Each residency includes a community reciprocity offering, designed collaboratively between the resident and the host.

Casa Ceiba especially welcomes Indigenous, Black, queer, and diasporic artists engaged in work at the intersection of culture, memory, and imagination. Sliding scale pricing, payment plans, and work exchange options are available.

Casa Ceiba is an offering rooted in the understanding that diaspora reconnection, deep creative practice, and reciprocal exchange are forms of cultural infrastructure — for the artist, for the community, and for the futures we are building together.
