Flame Asociación Cultural x Estudio Inverso is a strategic creative partnership combining cultural advocacy, premium real estate infrastructure, and five years of proven studio management in Madrid.
Asociación Flame is an NGO dedicated to securing and promoting physical spaces for the contemporary arts. Founded by the owners of our Carabanchel industrial warehouse facility, Flame provides the institutional framework for international art events, festivals, exhibitions, and digital artist promotion. The initiative is driven by four founding members who bring a unique blend of creative and corporate expertise to the project: two established artists, Chema Perona and Marcelo Mendonca, alongside two business professionals originally from the banking and property sectors. The team possesses extensive experience in the United Kingdom running prominent art NGOs, including Chromart.org and Ugly Duck spaces in London. Through these platforms, the founders successfully promoted hundreds of international artists and organized large-scale contemporary exhibitions and multi-disciplinary art festivals.
Estudio Inverso serves as our expert operational partner. Founded five years ago as a successful 10-artist "open walls" collective in the central Malasaña district, they expanded operations by joining forces with Flame’s founders to open an additional 13 specialized open studios within our newly renovated 320m² Carabanchel warehouse.
Together, our joint venture bridges international institutional expertise with hands-on studio management, embedding resident artists directly into the vanguard of Madrid's contemporary art scene.
