ArtWaves

ArtWaves is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community arts center dedicated to making creativity accessible to all. Located on Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park) we offer a welcoming space where people of all ages and skill levels can explore, learn, and connect through art and movement.

Visual Arts Studios

Using dynamic workshops, classes, and exhibitions, we provide opportunities for hands-on learning in painting, printmaking, fiber arts, mixed media, and more. Within our two studios (Kaleidoscope Studio and Fine Arts Studio) we run programs designed to inspire self-expression, foster collaboration, and support lifelong engagement in the arts.

Movement Studio

ArtWaves is home to a movement studio.  In this studio programs hosted ArtWaves and/or community groups provide a wide array of movement programs such as ballet, yoga, karate, Zumba and contemporary.

The Artist in Residence program invites experienced visual, performing, and interdisciplinary artists from around the country to stay at the ArtWaves campus for anywhere between one and two weeks.  During their stay artists have the opportunity to teach classes while enjoying time to create, reflect, and connect with other artists on beautiful Mount Desert Island, Maine.  This unique opportunity enables ArtWaves to bring a diversity of art instruction to the island and surrounding communities.
