The Anderson Center’s signature artist residency program is open to emerging, mid-career, and established visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, multidisciplinary artists, musicians, performance artists, scholars, translators and more based anywhere in the world. The program aims to meet the needs of artists while welcoming them into a supportive and inspiring residency environment that allows them to minimize distractions, focus in on creative work, and develop a strong sense of community and place while engaging in creative production.

Each resident is provided room, board, and workspace in the historic Tower View residence. Other workspaces on-site include visual arts studios, a writing studio atop a 100’ water tower, an open-air metalsmith facility, a dark room, and a print studio. Artists are provided with chef-prepared communal dinners and groceries, as well access to the historic campus and beautiful natural areas surrounding it.

The Artist Residency Program is an ideal fit for artists whose work reveals a significant potential for cultural and community impact, is technically accomplished, and engages diverse communities. The organization believes that the environment and resources of Tower View, along with an exchange of ideas between artists working across disciplines, can serve as a catalyst for new inspiration and innovative directions for the work artists create while in residence.

Located in the heart of historic New Orleans, The New Quorum Artist Residency program provides emerging and established musicians, composers and writers with a focused period of time to pursue artistic development, exchange ideas, and engage with the larger New Orleans arts community. Residents can expand their artistic potential through interaction with peer artists in an atmosphere that encourages new work free from the restrictions of the marketplace and academia.

Our Artist Residency program is designed to immerse talented professional musicians and writers from across the world in the culture of New Orleans, providing these artists with life-changing experiences and converting them into global ambassadors for New Orleans music and culture. The New Quorum seeks to distinguish itself from other local and national artist residency organizations with a special emphasis on bringing accomplished international artists to New Orleans, facilitating cultural exchange between visiting artists and those who live and work in New Orleans, and by shaping all its activities for maximum benefit to local musicians, writers, and the community at large.

Weir Farm’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program is envisioned to be an outstanding National Park Service residency program that reflects the values and character of Weir Farm National Historical Park (NHP) by continuing the creative conversations started by the Weir Family through the work of contemporary artists. Weir Farm’s AIR Program fosters contemporary artistic expression on site and prioritizes experimental and thought-provoking approaches to examining and interpreting our world through the medium of contemporary visual art practice. The AIR Program keeps Weir’s experimental tendencies alive allowing the Park to share new ideas broadly with ever more diverse artists, communities, and visitors.

The program is broadly inclusive of all people with a special focus on new and underrepresented voices, while maintaining high standards of artistic practice throughout the program. This reflects society’s shift from the exclusivity of Weir’s time to reflect the values of our society today and of the National Park Service as an organization that is open to all. Weir Farm NHP places a high value on diversity of experience and cultural perspectives and encourages applications from all interested eligible candidates. Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) are fundamental principles that guide the Park and allow us to successfully achieve our mission.

Bunnell Street Arts Center's "Alaska AIR" Artist-in-Residency program seeks international, US and Alaska artists looking to create new work and deeply engage Bunnell’s community. 

Bunnell seeks artists to strengthen the social, physical and economic fabric of Homer through the arts by addressing pertinent themes. These may include accessibility, inclusion, decolonization, sustainability, skills sharing and exchange, enhancing community well being, joy, or artistic strategies to build connection within communities. 

Mediums include, but are not limited to, visual, literary and performing arts, social and civic practice, ephemeral art, moving image, movement, music composition and performance. 

Alaska AIR residencies are generally scheduled for one month, October - April. The program provides a $2000 artist stipend, travel, lodging, and studio/gallery space. One to four Alaska AIR residencies are awarded annually, as Bunnell’s funding and scheduling permit.

The Croft Residency is a small residency on the hill facing South located in Horton Bay Michigan. The residency is on a 20 acre parcel of land on a dead end street. The residency overlooks Lake Charlevoix. Our main studio space is a large outdoor deck for dancing. We also have access to the communities' old one room schoolhouse, which is just down the hill.

We support movement based creatives. Choreographers/companies are able to apply with collaborators of different mediums for creative residencies. On average we host groups of up to 4 dancers for creative residencies. The residencies we host are generally either one or two weeks. The stipend amount that we offer to our residents is the same regardless of residency length. We offer stipends of $575 per artist and travel reimbursement of up to $500 per artist. 

We require the artists to give a gift to the land/engage in intentional relationship with the land everyday as a part of their process. Artists also leave a gift for the next resident. We ask artists to engage with the public. We work with the artists to find the engagement that makes the most sense for their process. 

The Environmental Artist-in-Residence Program at Wildacres Retreat welcomes artists, scientists and other professionals engaging with ambitious ideas and who are activity-focused on current global environmental issues. Candidates will be chosen for their intellectual and creative rigor as well as activism in their creative practice, with a deep emphasis on our climate crisis and its many permutations for society moving forward.

The intent of the Wildacres EAIR program is to support professional individuals and their creative practices from several disciplines, including all areas of art, social practice, writing, research, environmental restoration, natural science and other environmental and creative disciplines.

Qualified applicants will include artists and scientists who focus on climate change, global warming, the extinction crisis, habitat loss, soil degradation, as well as remedies and human adaptations to these and other pressing climate crisis issues. We are interested in artists who understand the cycles of the natural elements they are investigating and how the dynamics of our warming planet play a role in those cycles. For instance, in the local Blue Ridge Mountains the demise of Hemlock forests through infestation by an introduced insect has unbalanced essential elements of local watersheds.
