5x5 winter bootcamp

Join 5x5 as an investment in 2025 being your best year in your creative journey so far.

Take a breath, take a pause, and reflect before you get deep into the cycle of life in the new year to work on aspects of career planning.

5x5 is a bootcamp residency intensive geared towards those who are preparing to be in the job hunt and/or academic path of tenure expectations in creative fields. With this 5 night residency in the heart of winter, you'll receive one-on-one coaching from a creative who has been in your shoes and also worked with hundreds of others in the exact same spot you are in right now. Maximum of 5 participants.

Instead of procrastinating or having the overwhelming feeling of what lies ahead, take this reboot time for practical aspects of what's next.

This program is for you even if you plan on taking a portfolio class, a thesis seminar, or have mentors. Get a fresh and honest perspective and a nurturing, encouraging creative cheerleader. Includes:

  • critique of existing work
  • recommendations for portfolio presentation, digital design and organization
  • assistance with personal branding that will integrate into digital presence as well as resume/cover letters
  • discussions of your strengths and weaknesses with possibility of new projects to create to showcase (or identify projects that should be revamped)
  • assistance with writing and editing for tenure review or application, thesis projects, or resume
  • guidance on job search and interviewing skills

In person residency session options:

December 26-31 - nestled in that holiday season where the airport may be less chaotic and you might just need some time away

January 2 - 7 - before the spring semester starts, but after your existing holiday plans or commitments, you can still get a reboot to kick off 2025 with amazing intentions

Online virtual option for those who cannot travel.

Program fee includes the private coaching, lodging, meals, and optional transport from/to BNA as well as the nature immersion and opportunity for breaks to hug donkeys and hang out with cute chickens and adorable cats.

Additional Eligibility Information

You are at the point in your current path where you know you are ready for the mentorship beyond existing connections. You are ready to have a conversation about your work and get solid feedback with practical steps to achieve goals. Maybe you are at the point where you want introspection, but a neutral listener who can help you analyze.

Geared primarily towards those currently enrolled in undergrad or grad programs, FT academics or those still seeking that unicorn FT position, preparing to apply for school or jobs, or ready to take a break to reboot and revamp your portfolio, personal brand, resume, etc.

Get a step ahead of the portfolio class, the thesis seminar, or maybe you are a December grad wanting the step ahead of those following you in a few months. If you have not been enrolled or took a break for whatever reason, this is a great alternative experience (with a former FT professor turned coach).
