🌿 July 2026 nature art residency, Thassos island, Greece 🌿

Associated Residency Program

Theme:

July Summer Residency - from 4th of July 2026 to 26th of July 2026

Description of the program:

This residency is for any artist who is deeply moved and inspired by nature. Not only will you have the space to practice your art, but you will also learn about the nature you are immersed in.

In the Water & Rock art residency house, we are secluded and blessed with peace and quiet. An average summer day will include an early stroll, a morning of art, an afternoon nap and an early evening sea swim and very often a social event or local Greek celebration. Your host and nature guide Leah Heming will take you to some beautiful, secluded spots for creative inspiration. Leah will tailor your residency to fit your creative needs and be on hand with feedback and assistance.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Weekly guided beach & art days with Leah Heming
• Weekly group creative brainstorm & check in
• Art in the outdoors
• Stay in a traditional Greek house in a local community
• Quiet working space and setting
• Tailor made creative residency to fit your needs
• Unforgettable experience
• Nature, nature and more nature

The residency is open to artists, writers and musicians of any discipline who are inspired by nature. We strongly believe that artists have a huge part to play in bringing awareness to environmental and social issues through art, writing, communication and learning. Water & Rock is a space designed to nurture a return and connection to nature. The residency house is nestled in a stunning traditional mountain village, surrounded by forest, gorges, and remnants of ancient civilisations. The island will be generous to you, and your gift back will be your creativity which in turn will inspire others to look at nature differently and cherish the richness, beauty and life that it brings.

Your host Leah Heming is a passionate nature guide, artist and people lover. She has over 10 years experience in the art gallery business, 20 years in the publishing and animation industry, and 5 years of living a simpler life on the island of Thassos. Leah can't wait to get creative with you, show you around the island, introduce you to the local community and tell you all about the history, fauna and flora of Thassos.
