Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts Artists-in-Residence Program
The Arrowmont Artists-in-Residence Program provides early career, self-directed artists time, space and support to experiment and develop a new body of work in a creative supportive community environment of 140 rotating visiting workshop artists/instructors, national and regional media conferences/symposia and hundreds of students. The program encourages early career artists who embrace community and enjoy working in a team environment to apply. Each year, five artists working in different media are selected to participate in the 11-month program, which begins in mid-June and continues through mid-May of the following year. Artists are given a monthly stipend, shared housing with private bedrooms and meals (during workshop sessions), and a private well-lit studio with climate control, a basic worktable, shelving and sink. Professional Development and Health and Wellness funding opportunities are available. Additionally, there are teaching opportunities through Arrowmont's community class and ArtReach programs. At the conclusion of the program, residents exhibit their work collectively in Arrowmont’s main gallery. The successful resident is eager to be involved with Arrowmont’s diverse existing program offerings such as workshops, conferences, events and exhibitions. The ideal candidate for the Arrowmont Artists-in-Residence Program is an early career, self-motivated individual able to work well independently and within a larger organization. The successful resident is eager to be involved with Arrowmont’s diverse existing program offerings such as workshops, conferences, events and exhibitions. Candidates who enjoy the team spirit in working with staff, other residents and visiting artists/instructors are encouraged to apply. The Arrowmont Artists-in-Residence Program is open to permanent residents of the United States. Arrowmont is committed to the ongoing journey towards creating an inclusive, anti-racist, diverse arts and crafts community that welcomes and supports everyone. Arrowmont Artists-in-Residence have access to up to $750 in professional development support, and up to $2,000 in Health and Wellness funding, over the duration of the residency. Additionally, there are paid teaching opportunities for residents through Arrowmont's community classes and ArtReach programs.

Housing & Accomodation
Residents live on Arrowmont’s campus in the Pollard Residency House. Pollard House has five spacious, private bedrooms with private bathrooms, a shared kitchen and common living area and a shared computer with Internet access. All bedrooms are furnished, internet equipped and cable ready. Meals are provided in the Arrowmont dining room during workshop sessions.
Studio & Facilities
Each Resident has his/her own private studio (12 x 18) located in the Resident Studio Complex, just a short walk from Pollard Residency House. The studios are spacious, bright and climate controlled. One work table, shelving and sink are provided in each studio. A large shared outdoor area provides additional working space which invites interaction. Each resident is responsible for their own personal studio equipment, tools and materials. In some cases, Arrowmont’s specialized studio equipment is available for use or rent on an individual basis.
