Our Artist-in-Residence Program offers professional artists the opportunity to develop their practice within an inclusive studio environment while collaborating alongside adults with disabilities. Artists of Opportunity is the art programming of Opportunity Resources Inc. – a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in individuals with disabilities. Artists receive a $200 weekly stipend, dedicated workspace, access to community 2D and ceramic studios, newsletter and social media feature, and opportunity to display/sell work in our gallery/retail space. Artists are expected to teach at least one weekly workshop during their residency in their medium. Workshops will be attended by both community members and Opportunity Resources clients with various disabilities. An ORI art staff will be present to assist with accommodations; however universal design is encouraged when planning your workshops. 
Residencies will be active August 2026- June 2027. Applications will be accepted through May 2026.

The Paseo Project Artist in Residence Programs bring artists from all over the world to Taos, offering dedicated time and space to pursue their creative work. We offer two distinct residency opportunities: the Paseo @ Hotel Willa Artist in Residence, open to creatives of all media seeking a focused, independent experience, and the Paseo Project AIR Fellowship, which includes a stipend and emphasizes community engagement through a site-specific project. Both programs celebrate the transformative power of art in the unique cultural and natural landscape of Taos. 

Paseo Project AIR Fellows

The Paseo Project AIR Fellows program brings artists from all over the world to Taos to work with our community on a public art project. The program is an opportunity for working artists to activate their projects within the community of Taos, while exposing our community to new technologies, processes, and ideas.

Paseo @ Hotel Willa AIR

The Hotel Willa Artist-in-Residence Program, managed by The Paseo Project, invites artists across all disciplines to apply for the 2025 residency in Taos, New Mexico. This self-structured residency offers a unique opportunity to live and create in the vibrant cultural landscape of Taos.

The Tyler School of Art and Architecture invites applications for a spring 2027 residency in the Art Department, which encompasses undergraduate and graduate programs in Ceramics, Fibers and Material Studies, Glass, Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. The residency duration is flexible, ranging from two to five continuous months, and will be scheduled within the spring 2027 semester (January–May 2027) based on the selected artist’s availability.

The residency will be awarded to an artist whose work is primarily focused on the history and lived experience of North American federally recognized tribal citizens and who exemplifies the art and activism of the artist Edgar Heap of Birds in bringing attention to the lives, struggles and triumphs of Native Americans. The artist in residence will have the opportunity to mentor and advise Tyler students. The residency will culminate in an exhibition to be held in the Edgar Heap of Birds Family Gallery in Temple Contemporary, Tyler’s center for exhibitions and public programs. 

Residency includes:

• 24-hour access to an individual studio
• 24-hour access to shared studio facilities and equipment
• $1,500 materials budget
• Opportunity to teach, mentor, and/or advise students
• Access to Temple University’s 4,000,000 volume libraries
• Participation in a solo exhibition
• Stipend of $3,500 per month

The Grant Wood Fellowship (http://grantwood.uiowa.edu/fellowship) program at The University of Iowa, which supports one-year fellowships in the arts, is currently seeking a candidate appointed through the department of Theatre Arts with a specialty in interdisciplinary digital media in live performance. We seek applications from emerging to mid-career artists who are engaged in creating theatrical experiences, performances, happenings, and/or interactive installations that incorporate video, projections, and new/emerging technologies in bold and exciting ways to engage audiences for the twenty first century. The fellow will promote interdisciplinarity across the university in teaching, research, and creative work.

Fellows Receive:

• An appointment as a Grant Wood Fellow in Interdisciplinary Performance-Theatre, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts
• $40,000 salary plus benefits
• Office in the Theatre Building at the University of Iowa

Itinera Arte is an independent platform for contemporary art based in Rio de Janeiro, dedicated to the research, education, and dissemination of artistic practices.

Founded in 2019, it operates at the intersection of education, creation, and curatorship, promoting courses, artist residencies, exhibitions, study trips, and cultural mediation programs.

The Itinera Arte Artist Residency offers an immersive and experimental environment for artists from diverse contexts and disciplines, fostering dialogue between contemporary practices and the historical and urban landscape of Rio de Janeiro. The program combines curatorial mentorship, collective exchanges, studio visits with Brazilian artists, field activities, and public exhibitions, encouraging the development of critical and collaborative processes.

Guided by its own pedagogical project, Itinera Arte conceives the residency as a space for shared learning, where artistic practice becomes an exercise in listening, reflection, and research. The program seeks to integrate practice and thought, linking critical formation, aesthetic experience, and engagement with territory.

Acting autonomously and collaboratively, Itinera Arte reaffirms its commitment to the valorization of plural epistemologies and to art as a field of thinking, encounter, and transformation.

The Longfellow Emerging Artist Fellowship (LEAF) is a bold new initiative from One Longfellow Square, created to support early-career, Maine-based musicians in building sustainable, fulfilling lives as working artists. Launching in January 2026, the fellowship offers time, space, and community for five artists to focus deeply on their craft while gaining momentum in their professional journeys.

Rooted in equity and shaped by conversations with artists and cultural leaders across Maine, LEAF is designed to meet real needs—offering not just opportunity, but meaningful support. By investing in local talent and providing a platform for growth, LEAF aims to strengthen Maine’s creative ecosystem and help launch the next generation of voices onto the national stage.

In addition to community and visibility, each LEAF Fellow will receive:

• Free access to OLS venue space for rehearsals, recordings, workshops, and creative development
• Multiple paid performance opportunities
• $5,000 stipend for travel, equipment, living expenses, and new works
• Tailored marketing and portfolio support, including media introductions and website guidance
• Weekend retreat in rural Maine for reflection, collaboration, and creative reset
• Workshops and masterclasses with working musicians
• Connections to a growing network of presenters, venues, mentors, and professional organizations

The Steel Yard’s Micro-residency program can assist you in growing and strengthening your creative industrial art practice with flexible time commitments. Micro-residencies are an ideal opportunity for you to complete a specific project, commission, or prototype within a limited amount of time. Micro-residencies are available with a one-month minimum commitment, and a three-month maximum commitment.

The Steel Yard supports emerging and mid-career artists working in the industrial-arts: ceramics, welding, blacksmithing, or jewelry. We host one ceramics and one metals micro-resident at a time. Micro-residents receive an all-access pass to our 10,000 square foot studio, tools, resources, and community.

Accepted residents are invited to take, or teach, courses, attend critiques, participate in exhibitions, vend at art markets, be paid to design and fabricate public art work, and be part of a vibrant community of makers.

Residents will be required to sign a contract detailing responsibilities, privileges, studio access, and safety procedures. Residents will also be expected to contribute at least 5 hours of work time to the department monthly, and to participate in organizational fundraisers and departmental clean ups. Upon completion of their term, residents should expect to provide the Steel Yard with 5 images of the work created during their term, or as a direct result of their time at the Yard.

Resident artists will be embedded with a local community organization during the first week of residency to learn about the mission and goals of the organization, so as to be inspired with ideas for creative projects which will engage a broader cross-section of the public in those goals and missions.  Artists will then have five weeks to create finished, or significantly finished works which will be exhibited in the KCA gallery.  During the working period, artists will make one in-school workshop presentation in one of seven local schools.  Artists will also have one open studio day on a Saturday after the first three weeks – for public community access to the work and process.  There will also be two or three (TBD) evening events where artists will present their past or present work to an invited audience of supporters and arts leaders in the region.  Exhibits will open the Friday night of the last week of each residency and will run for four weeks.  Artists are expected to attend the Opening and an Artist Talk the Saturday morning after the opening, travel should be booked for the Sunday of the final weekend of the residency.
