Capital Campaign Donor Engagement Specialist

Since 2019, Yucca Valley Material Lab (YVML) has been redefining the role of an arts educational organization by establishing a decentralized, inclusive and affordable model grounded in direct material experimentation. At YVML, we recognize that achieving true equity means offering inclusive access to creative educational opportunities beyond the confines of traditional institutions.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide accessible and equitable arts education while fostering cultural awareness in a supportive and inclusive setting. This commitment aligns seamlessly with the pursuit of social justice, actively dismantling barriers for BIPOC, disabled artists, and those who are systemically underserved in our community.

Our Vision
We are excited to enter a new chapter in our bold vision for the future: the construction of a 1600 square foot, fully ADA-compliant, energy-efficient art studio. This visionary project is much more than just building a structure; it’s about creating a beacon of programming that is inclusive and empowering for artists of all abilities.

Through our diverse programs, we have welcomed individuals from various backgrounds, including residents of the Morongo Basin, the broader high desert community, BIPOC communities, and disabled artists and musicians. By establishing one of High Desert’s first universally accessible and anti-ableist maker spaces, we aim to play a significant role in cultivating a vibrant arts community, while also challenging hierarchies of ability that often marginalize disabled voices.
